Title:	Opening Reception of “Butterflies of Everglades National Park”

Description:	Come to an opening reception on Saturday, January 10! During all of January, an exhibit of captivating photographs of the butterfly species of Everglades National Park will be in the Coe Visitor Center. The photographs are the work of NABA photographers Jim Spencer, Michelle Wisniewski, Mickey Wheeler, Hank Poor, Bill Perry, Jamie Bernard, Laura Schrier-Coe, Linda Cooper, Holly Salvato, and Ron Nuehring. On January 10, starting a 1:00 pm, visitors can tour the native plant garden at the Coe Center with members of MBC and Dade Native Plant Society, at 3:00 pm hear a program on the butterflies of the park by Dan Kimball, Superintendent of Everglades National Park and Dennis Olle, President of Miami Blue Chapter, and all afternoon meet and chat with the photographers (here's a chance to get some good tips and techniques for butterfly photography!). This outstanding collection of photos, by NABA members, as well as interpretive material, has been made possible, in part, through a grant to MBC from the South Florida National Parks Trust. This is also an opportunity to obtain the NEW butterfly list for ENP, prepared by Mark Salvato and based on his years of surveying butterflies in the park. It will replace the park’s first butterfly list, published in 1980. Coe Visitor's Center is on your right as you enter the park south of Homestead, at 40001 State Road 9336.
