The Deer Management stakeholder group has been in existence since December 2006 and is comprised of an e-mail distribution list that goes to about 80 individuals and groups interested in deer management.  The group is governed by a steering committee, currently 17 individuals representing 19 different interest groups.  The steering committee is the main representative, discussion forum and is constituted as a “Technical Assistance Group” to provide facts and information to FWC staff on deer management issues.  The TAG exists in parallel with the FWC deer management team which is a group of FWC staff charged with developing the deer management plan.  The Steering committee meets roughly every 2 months and meetings are open to any member and members of the public. The Deer Management Stakeholder Group's site is made available to stakeholders by FL Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission as a service to support effective stakeholder action.
